Here's what we were working with - a front yard that was patchy, uneven, and just not doing the house any justice. The grade was off, and you could tell the lawn had been struggling for a while. No amount of fertilizer or mowing fixes a lawn that doesn't have a solid foundation under it.

That's where we started. Before a single piece of sod goes down, the grade has to be right. Getting the slope correct means water moves away from the home properly and doesn't pool in low spots. It's the step most people skip, and it's also the reason a lot of sod installs fail within the first year.

Once the ground was properly leveled and prepped, we laid fresh sod across the entire front yard. The difference is immediate. A tight, even sod install laid over a properly graded surface looks clean right away - and it establishes faster and holds up better long-term compared to sod dropped onto unprepared ground.

If your yard is holding water after rain, has low spots you can feel when you walk across it, or just looks tired and patchy, lawn leveling combined with a sod install is usually the most effective fix. It's not just about looks - it's about setting the lawn up so it actually performs well going forward. That's what we focused on here, and the result speaks for itself.

We handle lawn leveling and sod installs along with full landscaping and ongoing landscape maintenance. Whether you're starting from scratch or just ready for a fresh start on a yard that's been giving you trouble, we can put together a plan that makes sense for your property.
